For many they feel unloved, unwanted, or maybe confused. Many are trapped in abuse, for some, wrong choices have resulted in addictions and pregnancy. For others, they wander from house to house, place to place, seeking not just a place to live, but a place to belong.Forget Me Not is here to send a message, You are not forgotten!The time is now to take a stand; to reach out as a bridge of hope. Thats what Forget Me Not is all about. We are building bridges! Bridges of love, hope, acceptance, guidance and assistance. Forget Me Not is also a place where you can get involved. A place where you can become a Bridge Builder. A place where you can make a difference in a young persons life. FMN is a recognized non-profit organization with a heart for young people.
The other side of suicide is a virtual reality journey with those left behind; "The Survivors". Those affected by suicide experience a tsunami of emotions; "Soul Trauma" of devastation, destruction, shock, horror and brokenness; lives forever altered and changed! Suicide knows no bounds. Every age, gender, race, creed, culture, and religion has been affected. Suicide, without regard for anyone, pulls people into a journey that none should have to travel. Every year tens of thousands of people find themselves in what can only be described as "hell on earth." The journey contained between these pages is painful and intense, yet compassionate. The journey you are about to take is designed to guide "the survivors" to the place of peace they so desperately seek. It's designed to alert and awaken those who have reached a place in life where they feel, "there is no way out"; that life is worth living no matter what! For those with a compassionate heart, this journey will prepare them to be "agents of hope" and "vessels of mercy and grace"; equipped to reach out to those who cry in the darkness of hopelessness and the aftermath of suicide. Ready to bring hope and to be a part of healing the brokenhearted! THE OTHER SIDE OF SUICIDE is a journey that will forever change your life!

the vision

Forget Me Not serves as a bridge for youth that are in need of encouragement when all else seems hopeless. HOPE and LOVE is the foundation on which FMN was founded and we believe that they go a long way in each individual that we serve. At Forget Me Not, you belong. We believe, you have a purpose, you have a destiny, and you are not forgotten.The mission of Forget Me Not is to uplift, empower and assist at risk and homeless youth, a forgotten generation in the Fort Bend County community.Forget Me Not was birthed out of Uprising Ministries, an outreach of Family Worship Center, by Joy Ford, in 2008. The ministry saw the daily struggles that teenagers were faced with everyday, substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, homelessness, abandonment, etc. Not only were youth facing life altering situations, but there was nowhere for them to turn to for help. Forget Me Not, was then established. It is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that services at risk youth in Fort Bend County.We proudly work with counselors and social workers in the Fort Bend county area that provide us with referrals of students that are in need of assistance with basic needs.Our volunteers are the basis of our organization. In other words, you make our organization possible. We believe in investing positive influences into the lives of youth and we believe you can have a enormous impact on any given teen, at any point in time, that can change the direction of their life. Prom

Teenage years are supposed to be the time where you create some of the fondest memories that you will ever have in your life. Have you ever imagined not being a part of graduation, going to prom, or even missing out on simple things like back to school shopping and Christmas with family and friends? Its easy to take some of these things for granted, but we recognize that not everyone is fortunate enough to take part in these events. It our privilege to provide programs that allow some youth to celebrate in these special occasions during the year that they may not be able to participate in otherwise.

New EXciting Tomorrows

Prom is a very precious milestone in a young adults life, and for some kids, its not an option to attend. It is the pleasure of FMN to give a limited number of graduating seniors that are a part of our organization a moment to remember the rest of their lives, by assisting them with prom expenses. We offer limited assistance in the following areas: Prom dresses, tuxedo rental, hair/makeup, accessories, shoes, and prom tickets.

Graduation is special time in a high school students life. Many have struggled through their school years due to multiple obstacles, but have found a way to achieve what some told them was unachievable. We hold a special luncheon for our graduating seniors to honor them for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to complete their education, despite the odds. For many youth, their diplomas open a door to their future, and we are happy to share in their great accomplishments and future endeavors.

The Trend Spot

Christmas can be a discouraging time for many of our teens, but what better way to cheer them up, but to remind them of FMNs mission, they are not forgotten. Our team works hard to provide each individual with a stocking full of goodies.
August is a popular month for back to school shopping. During this month in particular and year round, we have available to the youth a room, called The Trend Spot. Here, they can come and pick out trendy and fashionable clothes, shoes, accessories and toiletry items if needed.
